Hypertension Symptoms

What Are the Symptoms or Signs?

Most people with hypertension feel nothing at all. That’s why it’s so important to get your blood pressure checked regularly—even if you feel healthy.

Still, some people may experience:

  • Headaches
  • Dizziness
  • Nosebleeds
  • Blurry vision
  • Chest pain or shortness of breath (in more severe cases)

But don’t wait for symptoms to take it seriously. Routine check-ups and self-monitoring can catch it early.

You’re also at higher risk if you:

  • Have a family history of high blood pressure
  • Eat a high-sodium diet (sorry, but all that sazón adds up)
  • Smoke or drink regularly
  • Are overweight or aren’t active

Live with chronic stress (but who doesn’t?!)
