What is Pain Management
What Is Chronic Pain—and Who’s Affected?
Chronic pain is any pain that lasts longer than three months. It can be constant or come and go, but it sticks around—and it can take a serious toll on your body, your mental health, and your daily life.
Common types of chronic pain include:
- Back and neck pain
- Arthritis or joint pain
- Migraines and headaches
- Nerve pain (like sciatica or diabetic neuropathy)
- Fibromyalgia
- Pain after surgery or injury
Latinx adults are more likely to experience untreated or under-treated pain, often due to language barriers, limited access to healthcare, or cultural stigma around asking for help.
For many in our community, pain becomes a normal part of life that we should just deal with. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
